The Dolphin requires a standard 120v outlet for power.
Dolphin robotic pool cleaners are best used in temperatures between 65 and 93 degrees.
No, do not remove, this is not packing material. These help the Dolphin with buoyancy within the pool.
No, the indentions on the rings are normal and due to the product settling during shipping. The rings will reshape once saturated with water.
We recommend taking your Dolphin out of the pool after each use to empty and rinse the filters and to rinse off any excess chemicals (view filter cleaning video). It is ideal to keep your Dolphin out of the pool and stored away when not in use. If your Dolphin has a weekly scheduler, you can keep it in your pool for a week, but you will need to make sure the filter is cleaned and that your sanitizer levels are within range. Just as vinyl pool liners are susceptible to bleaching and degradation from chlorine, so is the Nautilus CC Series. Limit its exposure to chlorinated water and direct sunlight during storage.
Make sure the power supply is placed at least 12 feet from the edge of the pool. Connect the floating cable to the power supply, align the lug on the connector with the notch of the plug on the power supply, then turn clockwise. Press the ON/OFF button on the power supply to begin cleaning.
The power supply for your Dolphin is not waterproof- it is water resistant. When in use, make sure it was either stored on the caddy or far away from the pool, so it does not get pulled in. Always use an electrical outlet protected with a Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) device; this will protect your Dolphin from surges in power. Do not use an extension cord or surge protector to power your Dolphin.
Gently pull on the blue floating cable to bring your Dolphin to the edge of the pool. Once your Dolphin is in reach, grasp the handle to pull the robot out of the water. Place the robot on the edge of the pool to let the remaining water drain out. Do not pull the Dolphin out of the water using the cable. For visuals, check out the second part of this video.
When your Dolphin is in use, only release enough of the cable for your Dolphin to properly cover your pool. Leave the excess cable loosely rolled outside of the pool. When storing your Dolphin on a caddy, carefully wrap the cable so it does not have any kinks and place it around the top of the caddy. Once a week, unplug the cable from the power supply and unwind the tangled portions of the cable, straighten it out and leave in the sun for a few hours. This will help remove any tangling or kinks. The simple answer is “no” but Nautilus CC will try very hard to clean your steps with little success. No swimming pool robotic cleaner does this well. They tend to reach the first step and maybe the second thinking in hopes of reaching a wall surface. Once it is too close to the surface, it will then quickly want to turn around in search of a more stable surface. We recommend using your wall brush before or during the start of your robot’s cycle to brush any debris on your steps or shallow ledges into the pool where Nautilus CC can better handle it.
Yes, the Nautilus CC Robots are powerful enough to adhere to the wall while climbing over your pool’s safety ledge. A safety ledge is defined as a 4-6” ledge at standing level in the deep end of a swimming pool. Tanning ledges, beach entries and extended top steps will not be cleaned.
The Fine Filters that accompany the Nautilus CC Plus are great for large and heavy debris most common in the Spring and Fall. They allow good water flow through them while still trapping most particles. The Ultra-Fine Filters will rival any sand filter catching not only the heavy debris but debris so fine, that you may find yourself backwashing your filter less frequently. If you own a cartridge filter, the Ultra Fine filters will do your filter’s heavy work requiring less frequent flushing and changing.
Both filters have their purpose in any pool owner’s maintenance schedule.
*Just be sure that if you do purchase the Ultra Fine Filters, that you use all 4 Ultra fine filters in one session. Using a combination of both Fine and Ultra Fine filters will only give you a cleaning level as good as the Fine Filters.
Fine filters can be used until they either become damaged or begin to form a build up of debris that can’t be flushed away.
Ultra Fine Filters should be changed every 1 to 2 seasons depending on usage. In the case of both filters, if you find the robot having difficulty climbing your pool’s walls even after cleaning the cartridges, it is most likely time for a new set.
